Art Suppliers

Most of the art we give away is bought directly from emerging artists at negotiated rates. We also accept art donations from galleries, collectors, and artists.

We’re proud to support artists, not only by purchasing their work, but by broadening the audience for it. Between the high prices and intimidating aura of gallery culture, very few people feel a connection to original art, much less have the funds to buy and live with it. By getting art into new spaces, ArtGivers enriches the practice of those making art just as much as the lives of those viewing it.

We believe presenting a broad selection of artistic voices is imperative, so as many people as possible can make deep and authentic connections with the chosen pieces.

A key component of our mission is paying artists fairly for their work. Any donations of works from artists is entirely at their discretion, and is is not an expectation.

If you’re interested in adding to the selection of art we give away, we’d love to hear from you. Artists who would like their work considered by our selection committee are invited to read our submission guidelines; if you’re a gallery representative or collector, please contact us.

What’s an “Emerging Artist”?

There are a variety of definitions, but ours includes artists who:

  • aim to be a full-time professional artist, having gone well beyond "hobby artist" status

  • demonstrate potential and have some notable successes in terms of sales and/or awards and/or selection for significant exhibitions

  • may operate on a semi-professional basis but have another job or revenue stream which helps pay the bills

(Note: We don’t consider age a factor in defining an emerging artist.)

Some of our Participating Artists

“The idea of a program that is helping out emerging artists as well as displaying original art in places of healing, it's just a fantastic match.”
